Bio
Dawn FalconeDawn was born and raised in the Italian capital of the USA - Cranston, R.I. She was the middle child of three, but her extended family was always around because they all lived within 5 minutes of each other. Spending so much time with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, helped to shape her traditions, beliefs, and her tendency to yell when speaking.
Dawn was itching to spread her wings & decided to leave the family nest (much to their horror). She headed NYC’s Fashion Institute of Technology to study fashion design. She loved the hustle & bustle of city life so much that she stayed there after graduating.
Dawn has done everything from costume design for bodybuilders, Indie films & theater to working as a fashion stylist. She has helped plan weddings & events. She studied acting, working on soaps and off-off Broadway shows.
Her focus shifted within the last couple of years. She wanted to take her passion for decorating, organizing, event planning & fashion - all things lifestyle and turn it into a business. Dawn Falcone Lifestyles LLC was launched in 2005.
She lives in NYC with her beautiful son, Leonardo, and husband Tom, a true renaissance man. He enjoys all of Dawn's creativity, especially her pasta sauce.

Quick History of the Origin of My Life With Garlic
I started this blog in 2004 after a friend suggested that I write about my family. I was always telling stories about my visits to Rhode Island & how well I ate while there. Initially, My Life With Garlic was a food blog, about my attempts to gather secret family recipes. My grandparents and great aunts never wrote a single recipe down, hence "secret". I did enjoy the time I spent traveling to RI to cook with my grandmother and my late grandfather. It was not easy to perfect these recipes and I spent many hours alone in my small NYC kitchen doing just that.
My goal at that time was to publish a cookbook with the results. Then a series of events took place in my life that altered that decision. The main one being that my grandfather got sick. Poppa was the heart and soul of our family and since he passed things have never been the same (that's putting it mildly).
I also realized, after logging many hours in the kitchen, that I did not want to be a chef or the next Rachel Ray or even on the Food Network. So My Life morphed into a personal blog about life's trials and tribulations. I write about life in NYC, my son, marriage, vacations, design and whatever else happens to be on my mind.
